I've been a motorhead my whole life. As a kid I collected Matchbox, Dinky and Corgi toys, I built 1/24th scale models and even put together a local model car club. At age 12 my father thought me how to drive the family car, a '57 Chevy. In my teens I hung around the local Speed Shop drooling over cars and drawing T-shirts. I was a crew member on Tommy Mullin's C/Gas '37 Chevy and spent a few summers learning english/mechanics/driving, towing race cars around Québec, Ontario and North Eastern United States. I'm also very thankful to Andy Sauvé who thought me both drag racing and road racing driving techniques even before i got my license. I got my first car while still in school at age 17, a rusted Fiat 600. At that time many a night was spent bench racing while week-ends where spent at the drag strip during the summer or at car shows and helping with rebuilds during the off season. I've owned more than a half dozen performance cars, mostly Chevies, starting in the late sixties (someone say oldskool?) until the early eighties when i went back to school full time.

Without wheels for the first time in 15 years, I spent 1982 traveling to and from University and band practices on my 10 speed. There were a half dozen motorcycle shops in downtown Montreal in those days and I started looking at used bikes as alternative transportation. In early spring 1983 my brother and I went to a Suzuki Best Buy Offer, he wanted to buy a small bike and asked if I would come along. We both walked out with a contract for a brand new Suzuki GR650 twin. On the way home we kept looking at each other in disbelieve. Although I had been on bikes before, both as a rider and passenger, i never thought much about it until I actually owned one and it was my only means of transportation. It was the start of a passion that lives on to this day. I've since participated in numerous bike events, magazines, schools, races, shows, clubs and e-forums.

My username: Solo Suzuki. I was trying to log on to hotmail and I remembered this jingle from the sixties ''...he was roaring down the street, he was soloing suzuki...'' and voila!
